Materials

Fine Jewellery

Solid precious metal, genuine stones, and a piece that can be restored indefinitely.

The definition

Fine jewellery is made entirely from solid precious metal and set with genuine precious or semi-precious stones. No plating, no base metal core.

Hallmarking

In the UK, precious metal above a set weight must be hallmarked by an assay office. The hallmark confirms metal and fineness independently. Every qualifying Melissima piece is hallmarked.

Stones and certification

Diamonds above 0.30ct are supplied with independent certification. Coloured stones are traceable to source and never treated in ways we do not disclose.

Longevity

Fine jewellery can be repolished, resized, restrung and reset — repeatedly. That repairability is the real definition of luxury.
